Michigan Recreational Construction, Inc. (MRC) is a leading provider of commercial park and playground construction in Michigan and surrounding states. We specialize in commercial park & playground construction, as well as all related site development services. Since 1998, our company has successfully completed over 6,000 projects throughout Michigan and neighboring states. Our expertise spans a wide range of recreational and community-focused construction services, including complete park demolitions and renovations, playground and splash pad installations, sport court development and upgrades, and the installation of shade structures, shelters, and pavilions.

In addition to traditional playgrounds, we design and construct all inclusive, nature-inspired playgrounds that encourage creative play, sensory engagement, and physical development by incorporating elements like logs, boulders, water features, and native landscaping.

Meet the Founders: Craig & Susan Sheffer

In 1998, Craig and Susan founded Michigan Recreational Construction, Inc., a commercial park and playground company, driven by their passion for creating safe, innovative spaces where children can play and grow. Both coming from large, tight-knit families, they deeply value the importance of community, family and supporting others. As parents of four children themselves and grandparents of two, their top priority in every project has been creating a safe and fun environment for children to play and thrive.
